Launchpad for shield
April 1st 2008

Diversified technology company, 3M, will unveil at MACH 2008 the latest product in its range of Speedglas welding shields.

Many welding and cutting procedures emit dangerous light radiation that can cause damage to the eyes.

The Speedglas autodarkening filters mean that the wearer maintains good vision while being protected from harmful UV and IR radiation.

In addition to providing high levels of protection, comfort and visibility, the welding shields are said to eliminate neck-strain caused by nod-down and increase the accuracy of electrode placement. This helps improve the quality of the weld, reducing the need for grinding and re-work.

3M will have a significant presence at MACH 2008. As well as the new welding helmet, the company will showcase its abrasive products and new airpowered abrasive tool line.
