Updated helmet for blast operators
October 1st 2008

Hodge Clemco has introduced a new blast operator's helmet with features that are designed to improve comfort, visibility, durability and convenience for the wearer.

The main shell of the Apollo 600 is made from heavy-duty polypropylene and is large enough for operators to wear ear defenders if they wish.

External noise attenuation performance is said to be better than with the existing apollo model, and noise from the internal air-flow has also been reduced.

The outer cover is deep enough to provide good protection from abrasive rebound for the top of the cape. The fixed visor gives a wide view and is easy to fit. Air-flow is fed through a single hose to the front of the operator's face. An internal drop-down tab warns of reduced air pressure.
