New from @Source QX is SpeakHear, a combination of the company’s ProtectHear personally moulded earplugs and a radio accessory.

Hard-wired Personal Mobile Radio accessories have been configured to simply clip externally to the earplugs, providing hearing protection while maintaining the user’s ability to hear speech and shouted warnings and to use the telephone.

A constant background of noisy machinery, vehicles and manufacturing processing has led to many workers suffering Noise Induced Hearing Loss, a disabling and irreversible condition.

Disposable foam ear plugs must be inserted deep into the ear canal to be effective and, according to @Source QX, this may prove difficult to achieve.

When fitted correctly, they have the disadvantage of cutting out audible communication.

The company’s custommoulded medical grade silicon earpieces are said to be comfortable enough for all day wear and can be worn with PPE such as helmets and glasses.
