Protecting the hearing

Advanced Communication Systems has supplied Dow Chemical in Kings Lynn, Norfolk with more than 30 sets of custom-made hearing protectors for its staff, with further plants introducing the products into their PPE-approved products.

The Workfit range is suitable for use in an industrial environment. The earpiece is custom-fitted with the correct filter for the noise level and is said to guarantee continual hearing protection.

It is comfortable to wear brightly coloured so that it is easily seen, and the company believes it to be more hygienic and cost effective over its life span than disposable products.

The Workfit system offers the flexibility to incorporate a range of filters, that produce varying attenuation characteristics. Such characteristics are biased to higher frequency ranges allowing verbal communication.
