Versatile instrument
October 1st 2004

Pulsar Instruments has introduced a new range of sound level meters.

First in the range is the Model 30, a Type 1 digital instrument that can be used as an integrating sound level meter or as a real time spectrum analyser.

The instrument is designed to meet IEC 61672:200X at full Class 1 level as well as the old IEC 60651 and 60804 standards.

The technology is based on digital sampling and Model 30 simultaneously measures all its parameters in full parallel mode. With numeric, graphic and statistical screens, it is said to be one of the most practical instruments available.

With a measuring span going from 23 to 140dB in one single range, with no auto-ranging, it is truly multi-functional.

The instrument incorporates a true real time analyser using sound level or SEL and Leq as well as True Peak. In the frequency domain, it includes the international Z frequency weighting as well as A and C weightings.

All the acquired data can be stored internally and either replayed on the built-in display or transferred to a computer for further analysis using the supplied software and transfer cable.
