Get under the surface of safety footwear
February 1st 2009 Safety footwear specialist JalGroup
is urging businesses to invest more
time in understanding the slip and
trip hazards in their workplace
before finding the right solution to
guard against them, after the latest
workplace injury statistics from the
HSE revealed slips and trip injuries
had remained unchanged over the
past three years.
Still the most common form of
major injury in the UK –
accounting for 39% of total major
injuries in 2007/08 – JalGroup says
more consideration must be given
to the grip performance of safety
footwear supplied to staff, in
addition to ensuring other issues
such as workplace maintenance,
good housekeeping and trip
