Lightweight clothing
December 1st 2005

New from Severnside Safety Supplies, Arblite lightweight protective clothing for chainsaw users is said to be about 33% lighter than most other clothing.

The range includes trousers with all-round protection to EN 381-5 design C Class 1, jackets to EN 381-11 Class 1, front protection trousers, and bib and brace to EN 381-5 Design A Class 1.

The clothing combines traditional fabrics with new materials such as Kevlar and Teflon to produce hardwearing, comfortable and protective garments.

Design C trousers, for example, incorporate Kevlar for the front and back of the legs. They have elasticated waists with buttons for braces, and hip and leg pockets with flaps. One of the flaps has a label for such information as user's name and blood group.

Three different types of outer material are used, including Teflon for water repellency and there is a ventilated seat area for increased comfort.
