New range right on track
June 1st 2008

A new range of workwear designed to exceed Network Rail's Class 3-3 guidelines has proved a success in recent field trials.

Outfits from the Pulsarail range from Parker Rail were distributed to staff at May Gurney, an integrated support and construction services company, working on three different project sites throughout the UK.

Peter Jones, SHE manager at May Gurney, comments "It's important that PPE offers the best weather protection possible. We asked employees at three of our sites to use and abuse the Pulsarail jacket and trousers and the results were very positive. They told us it was comfortable, warm and flexible.

"The seven-in-one coat was very versatile because it could be worn in a variety of different ways to suit weather conditions. Our employees are often out in all weather 24/7, so the PPE needs to live up to those demands. The feedback we got from these trials was very positive – it certainly seems Pulsarail is living up to expectations." The range is designed to offer rail workers high levels of protection, comfort and practicality, from head to toe.

Parker Merchanting will also be supplying a range of consumables and trackside equipment to complement its PPE.
