Freedom and protection
April 1st 2007

South West Highways is using a Combisafe Hanging Platform and steel mesh barrier system to safeguard employees carrying out repairs to one of Brunel's viaducts across Dartmoor.

John Hardy, Combisafe's southern area manager, believes the Hanging Platforms to be ideal for bridge developments. He says "Quick and easy to erect, move and dismantle, they protect the workforce whilst allowing them freedom to move and do their job effectively.

The device creates a working platform around the edge of structures, is simple to install, adjustable, and comprises guardrail, toeboard and work platform in one system.

It is tested and approved to AFS 1990:12 and SSEN12711- 1.
