LUL approval for cables
August 1st 2007

Distributor of the Draka Firetuf range of data and coax cables, FS Cables says the data range is used in many public buildings for BMS applications and critical communication systems where mass emergency evacuation is required.

The low smoke, halogenfree materials offer a high level of fire resistance.

FS Cables says that both ranges have been tested and found to meet the requirements of LUL standard 2- 01001-002.

The LUL standard comprises tests for flammability to BS4066: Part 3, smoke emission to BS EN 50268 and toxic fume emissions.

In addition, both cables have been tested for and meet fire resistance BS EN 50200: 2000 and BS8434-2:2003 and achieved the required performance of class PH120 and 120 minutes survival time when tested to BS8434-2 for FR enhanced cables.
