EXPLOSION PROOF VACUUM UNITS
February 1st 2004

Nederman has added two explosion proof vacuum units to its range. The pneumatically powered systems, P221EX and P252EX are suited to use in areas where there is a high risk of atmospheric flammable gas or a need to handle explosive dust.

Both units are ATEX approved and can be used to recover all classes of dust and granular material. Neither has any moving components and both are made using conductive materials to eliminate static build up.

The vacuum effect is produced using an ejector-type system. This uses the pressure drop experienced as a stream of air passes through a venturi to provide suction. The system generates a vacuum of -21kPa on the P221EX and -52kPa on the more powerful P252EX. Air use is 1Nm3/min and 3Nm3/min respectively at 6-7bar pressure. Both units are 1500 by 790 by 620mm in size and weigh 68.5kg. Bin capacity is 47 litres.
