Increased absorbency claimed
April 1st 2004

Following the launch of the large roll format of Wypall L Wipers with Airflex fabric last year, Kimberly Clark Professional has introduced the fabric to its entire range of Wypall L Wipers, designed for the food service and manufacturing sectors.

Benefits claimed for Airflex include: 144% more absorbency; 19% more bulk; 121% more strength; and 15% more utility savings.

The company says that while conventional paper manufacturing processes crush fibres creating a sheet that is flat and dense, Airflex fabric technology has hot air passing through the sheet so the fibres are left in tact. This is said to make it more than twice as absorbent as conventional paper, as the larger air pockets can absorb more liquid.
