WEBSITE CELEBRATES PAD'S 50th BUFF-DAY
April 1st 2008

The Scotch-Brite floor pad is 50 years old on 25th April 2008 and to celebrate this milestone 3M has launched a website – www.3M.co.uk/ scotchbritefloorpads – which is filled with fascinating facts and figures about the product, a timeline showing its development and a competition to win £1000 worth of holiday vouchers.

The website, which goes live on the same date, details how the product has developed from the standard slim line floor pad to the latest innovation, the purple diamond pad. It also contains information on the Scotch-Brite pad range and the technology involved in its development.

The Scotch-Brite floor pad uses a combination of three of 3M's core technologies.

Adhesives, abrasives and non-woven fibres are bonded together.

More products have since been developed for a variety of tasks, including stripping, spray cleaning and buffing, and for a variety of surfaces such as marble and safety floors.
