Pyroshield from Dulux Trade is described as a new answer to the problem of rapid flame spread on multi-layered painted surfaces.

The company expects the product to have a massive impact in the fire retardant sector, where it will help to provide crucial time in the event of a fire by delaying the early stages of flame spread, when occupants may still be making their way to safety.

Pyroshield’s ICI technology offers the independently accredited flame retardancy necessary to help specifiers meet their ‘duty of care’ responsibilities without compromising on finish or colour aesthetics.

It is water-based so is quick drying and it is free from hazardous materials that are often used in conventional flame retardant coatings.

The product is said to be quick and safe to apply and is free from the powerful odour that comes with some other flame retardant coatings.
