FLOORING FIT FOR FOOD INDUSTRY
December 1st 2004

A FoodSafe floor system from Ryebrook Resins has been installed at food preparation/distribution company, Kam Kee.

Meeting strict health and safety regulations, the FoodSafe system delivers a seamless finish, removing the threat of microbes and bacteria being harboured in hard-to-clean joints.

Capable of withstanding heat from steam cleaning, a hygienic environment can be maintained easily, while providing protection from the risk of thermal shock from the cooking process.

Ryebrook initially laid a bedding screed onto the concrete base, effectively creating a fall throughout the kitchen area and allowing waste water to drain through a channel in the centre of the room.

Ryeflor HF, an impervious polyurethane screed was then laid to a thickness of 6mm, except in the freezer area where it was laid to 9mm.

For ease of cleaning, a 150mm high radius cove skirting was created around the perimeter of the room.
