SOUND INSULATION FOR QUIETER SCHOOL

An acoustic flooring system from Polyflor has been installed at Round Diamond School in Stevenage, following the introduction of more stringent sound insulation regulations for school buildings.

The Polyflor system features Polytred Acoustifoam, a 2mm closed cell foam backing sheet with glass-polyester reinforcement that can be installed under any Polyflor heavy duty or safety sheet vinyl floor covering to achieve a minimum sound installation of 18dB.

Polyflor 2000 PUR and Polyflor Mystique PUR heavy duty vinyls are fitted respectively in equipment rooms and in the nursery. Polysafe Astral and Polysafe Design safety floors are installed in class-rooms and around drinking fountains, while Polysafe Standard is used in the main kitchen area.

Polysafe Astral and Design have Supratec soil-releasing polymer system that is said to make them up to 60% cheaper to clean.
