Latest leveller that cuts 'dock shock'
August 1st 2007

New from Caljan Rite-Hite (CRH) is a smooth transition dock leveller that is designed to eliminate 'dock shock', a phenomenon that raises health and safety concerns and causes stock damage.

The device features special front and rear hinge designs, which are said to reduce or remove gaps between the leveller components and the dock itself. CRH says this means that a forklift truck travelling over the leveller will experience 76% less shock loading compared to a traditional leveller.

Bumping and jarring occurs when a forklift travels from a loading dock into a vehicle trailer. Shocks are transmitted to the operator's neck and back, and over a period of time can cause fatigue or more serious injuries.

CRH says that a smooth transition leveller will significantly reduce or eliminate such problems.
