Kaba Door Systems believes its new door drive and control system will revolutionise the safety and operation of overhead doors and roller shutters.

Koax is a separated extra low voltage DC motor drive and control system that is passively safe and eradicates the need for torsion springs, haul chains and other conventional system components that may present health and safety hazards.

By removing the spring and using a Zero Back Drive safety coupling, the system is said to be ultra reliable.

Suitable for new installations and for retrofitting to all door makes, Kaba believes Koax to have unrivalled total life and design costs when compared to conventional systems and says it is safer, quicker and more cost effective to install and maintain.

Features include a threestage emergency operation system for use during power failures.
