FILM BLOCKS 99% OF UV RADIATION
October 1st 2005

Cancer Research UK warns that cases of skin cancer have doubled in the last 25 years and believes more people are likely to get malignant melanomas in the next few years.

While the emphasis is on wearing sunscreen, protective clothing and staying out of the midday sun, new research has shown that being indoors may not be as safe as previously thought.

UVB radiation, which causes sunburn, is screened by glass, but UVA radiation passes through. Studies at MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Texas show that while sunscreens do prevent non melanoma skin cancers, they had no effect on preventing malignant melanoma.

LLumar solar control window film from CPFilms will block out 99% of UV radiation. It is installed quickly and with minimal disruption by a CPFilms accredited installer. Glare is reduced and the film rejects up to 85% of solar heat gain.
