Sony United Kingdom has commenced baling the waste polythene film at their NDC in Newbury, Berkshire using a KK18 Baling Machine. The polythene is being collected by Bestway Recycling in London for processing in the UK. In addition to paying for the waste polythene Bestway has also provided the baling equipment on free loan to Sony.

At present this Sony location produces about 5 bales of polythene per week, but this increases by at least 100% from June onwards in the run up to Xmas. The current cost savings of 50 per week will also improve as tonnage increases and landfill charges escalate.
