Life blood is skins enemy
February 1st 2004

If machine tool coolant (the life blood of manufacturing) is not kept consistently clean and free from debris, some of the investment is lost on downtime, poor product quality and operator

health and safety problems.

One problem is foreign matter entering the coolant supply. It surrounds the machinist in the form of: fine metallic swarf; grinding wheel debris; oxide scale; rust particles. All may cause skin abrasion and irritation.

Good housekeeping in the form of the use of industrial vacuums from Freddy Products to remove foreign matter will help to prevent this problem of skin damage.
