Sweet smell of success August 1st 2005 JD Wetherspoon believes it has found the answer to a centuries old problem: the stale, sour smell that obstinately clings to urinals. A pilot scheme set up to introduce the Sani- Sleeve system developed by Enviro-Fresh into selected Wetherspoon houses around the country has proved extremely successful. All the pubs chosen reported a significant improvement in the washroom environment, a considerable reduction in customer complaints and a saving in both staff time and water use.
The Sani-Sleeve system involves the use of patented odour-lock tube that extends below the water level in the urinal trap and is topped by a cap containing a biological block with a faint citrus odour.
