High level protection
June 1st 2008

Safesite has completed the installation of a substantial roof safety system for Daresbury Laboratory in Warrington to enable safe access to the roofs for maintenance purposes.

The installation comprises 2000 l/m of Safesite's System 2000 freestanding guardrail in addition to its Horizontal Lifeline system.

System 2000 provides a solution where regular access is required. The guardrail's freestanding design means it does not need to be mechanically fixed to the roof, avoiding the risk of damage to the roof's membrane which can cause water penetration.

For areas where guardrail was not suitable, Safesite's top-fix Horizontal Lifeline allows operatives to work safely at high level without restrictions on movement.

Following the success of the initial installation, Safesite was asked to carry out additional work at the Warrington site.
