A Wave work assist vehicle from Crown is helping to create a safer workplace for staff at the Moreton bakery of Manor Bakeries.

The vehicle replaces A-frame ladders that were used by staff to gain access to ducting and lighting above production machinery.

Mal Stevenson, health and hygiene manager, says The Wave machine allows staff to just get on and go. Its compactness allows operation in confined spaces, while its hydraulic lift enables staff to work at heights in excess of 4m in comfort and complete safety.

In the raised position, travel speed is 3.2km/h. Once lowered to ground level, top speed is 6.5km/h.
