Spreader solution
October 1st 2004

Health and safety regulations require that access to private and public buildings, public thoroughfares, car parks and shop entrances have to be clear of snow and ice to prevent trips, slips and falls.

The result has been a boom in winter contract work. Many summer maintenance contractors, however, have been unable to take advantage of this market due to the cost of buying and storing gritting equipment.

Broadwood International believes its SnowEx Spreader provides a solution. Units range from 90 to 1150L in hopper size and include various mounting systems to suit tractors, forklifts, ATVs, pick-up trucks, vans and other vehicles.

Designed primarily for bulk salt and sand spreading, the system consists of a 12V, twostage auger system, independent spinner/auger controller and low maintenance direct drive.

The auger system design is said to give a positive, steady feed of materials, eliminating clogging and flow problems.
