Emergency kits
April 1st 2006

A new range of emergency spill kits has been introduced by Darcy Products to help companies deal with major incidents such as tanker roll-overs and leaks from tanks or pipelines.

The kits are said to be capable of cleaning up or containing the majority of emergency spills without the need for outside help.

The largest standard kit has an absorbent capacity in excess of 950L and kits can be supplied for absorbent capacities to 1500L.

Kits come in three basic forms: oil kits for hydrocarbons, diesel, petroleum, oil based paints, lubricants and solvents; Maintenance kits for oils, coolants, water, detergents and mild chemical solutions; and Chemical (Hazmat) kits for acids, caustics and corrosives.

A typical large capacity kit contains four hundred 40 by 52cm absorbent pads, rolls of absorbent, booms, socks, cushions, Dammit mats for sealing drains, Dammit sealant for damaged tanks and drums, disposal bags, and two protective personal safety kits.

Contents can be varied according to requirements.
