Stressfree tank October 1st 2005 Aviation services provider Servisair/GlobeGround is using an Allibert Helix plastic bulk tank at Manchester Airport as part of a supply contract with Brotherton Speciality Products.
The tank will store Ecowing 26, a fluid used to de-ice aircraft before takeoff.
Although largely inert, it must be safely stored and bunded to 110%.
The tank’s ease of use means de-icing rigs can easily fill, giving a faster turnaround. It was produced using the Allibert Helix winding process that creates a stress-free tank with no seams and is designed for a working life of 20 years plus.
Stewart Davis, Servisair/ GlobeGround ramp manager, at Manchester Airport, says "We receive hundreds of flights on a typical day during the winter, so being able to treat planes quickly and efficiently is vital. Allibert Helix’s tank means we have rapid access and the chemical is stored safely." More articles from Allibert Helix: |
