Turning tables
October 1st 2008

B&B Attachments has teamed up with Kaup GmbH to launch the Pallet Turning Table, an economical way for wholesalers and distribution centres to commission pallets.

Difficulties can arise when products at the front of pallets have been removed leaving those at the back hard to reach. Kaup's Pallet Turning Table assist by reducing the manual labour needed to turn pallets around.

The half-empty pallet is picked up and removed from the shelf by a forklift and placed on the turning table.

After it has been positioned and the forks extracted, the table automatically turns 180°, making it easier to pick product. Capable of turning pallets of 1000kg in 3 to 4sec, the table is powered by a 24V battery.

Mike Barton, MD, comments "Health and safety is a major issue for companies today and turning pallets of heavy goods around can lead to physical injury. Kaup and B&B Attachments have identified this problem and resolved it with the launch of the Pallet Turning Table."
