Fire-rated solutions
April 1st 2006

A-Plant has delivered more than £400 000 worth of firerated, anti-vandal accommodation units to form a contractors' village of temporary site office accommodation for the £380m Manchester Joint Hospitals Project.

The village consists of 32 x 10ft units manufactured by the Thurston Group. The uniformity and proximity provided by the village will allow Bovis Lend Lease to control movements of equipment, personnel and materials on site.

The all-steel, fire-rated, units have been designed, manufactured and independently tested to meet Clause 12.4 of The Joint Code of Practice on the Protection from Fire of Construction Sites and Buildings Undergoing Renovation.
