Reduces Legionella risk
October 1st 2004

A significant reduction in the risk of Legionella infections is the claim by 2H for its Sanipacking cooling tower fill.

The modified cooling tower pack has a long lasting effect against Legionella and many other gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Used in conjunction with normal treatment systems for cooling towers, Sanipacking can reduce the risk of Legionella infection to passers-by and maintenance workers by eliminating bacteria from the pack.

The company says that in independent tests, the product has been shown to prevent the growth of Legionella on its surface and, by destroying any bacteria lodging there, it radically reduces the overall microbial population and enhances the effectiveness of the biostats that are added as part of normal treatment.

The product is leach and wash-resistant and does not contain toxins based on heavy metals or arsenic.
