DDA compliance
February 1st 2005

To help companies comply with The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995, Videx Security offers a range of special needs door entry panels that are designed to help prevent the discrimination disabled people face when trying to access public buildings using an intercom system.

Panels will be available in different forms with both standard and optional features to help those who are blind, deaf or have some physical disability.

Standard features include a two-line, back-lit 16-character LCD capable of showing a range of messages. These include the display of the tenant’s name being called, flat number and ‘door open’ or ‘busy, please wait’ messages.

A speech board is capable of audibly announcing the stage of the call in either male or female voice.

Optional features of the door panel include braille, large illuminated buttons, high level and low level panels, built-in camera and remote camera.
