ECONOMICAL HAND WASH FACILITIES
February 1st 2005

Greater public awareness of hygiene issues, along with associated legislation, has increased the need for individual hand washing facilities in the workplace.

Santon believes point-ofuse and electric water heating units offer an ideal solution.

These methods heat water close to the point of use, reducing energy consumption and water use. Standing heat losses in the supply pipework are minimised and users do not have to waste cold water while waiting for the hot to come through.

Single point-of-use vented storage water heaters, generally sited next to the point they service, provide hot water to a sink or basin and can be fed directly from the cold water supply. They are typically available as oversink or undersink units.

Santon’s Aquarius water heater, for example, comes in 7 and 10L capacities.

Electric hand wash units also offer energy efficient hot water to one sink or basin. The EV 2001, for example, requires only a small amount of wall space.
