Hygienic hand dryer
August 1st 2007

Rather than trying to evaporate moisture, Jet Towel from Mitsubishi Electric blasts water from hands with two high speed wafer thin airflows that atomise and collect the water, drying hands in just 10sec.

The company's first Jet Towel was launched in 1993 and the version now available in Europe is the seventh generation.

Its environmental credentials are high; it avoids the use of paper towels and the power consumption of the motor is just 650W.

Washed hands are placed into a slot on the Jet Towel's upper side and sensors automatically start the 180mph airflow. This is heated to 35 using a low power storage heating system for instant warmth.

When the dried hands are retracted the airflow stops.

Energy efficient, the airflow does not continue after the user has departed and avoids any bacterial transfer.

Materials of construction are anti-microbial, providing enhanced hygiene through the life of the unit.
