Stops shower slip-ups
February 1st 2005

A slip-resistant floor covering from Plastic Extruders has solved a recurring problem in the accommodation blocks at the University of Brighton.

Students occasionally slipped on the tiled floors of the shower and washroom pods. One particular accident prompted college authorities to source a floor covering that would eliminate further slip-ups.

Heronrib 2000 matting was selected. The high performance safety matting is widely used for wet and bare foot applications. For Brighton University, it had the advantage that no preparation was needed, since it could be cut to shape on site and loose-laid in one-piece, with minium disturbance to students.

The matting has a highly slip-resistant embossed surface, is hard wearing and comfortable to stand on.
