Providing portable ablution solution December 1st 2007 A Birmingham-based
company has devised a way
of helping the NHS get
additional hand washing
facilities 'to the point of
need' to provide a vital step
in stopping the spread of
C.difficile in hospitals.
In emergency situations
when isolation wards have
to be established to contain
an outbreak of the deadly
superbug, Teal Patents
believes its Hygienius hot
water hand wash station
could literally make the
difference between life and
death for some patients.
The portable unit requires
neither fixed plumbing nor
drainage and can be placed
in wards to facilitate a
rigorous regime of hand
washing. Once plugged in it
is ready for use
immediately.
When users place their
hands in the bowl a sensor
is triggered which
automatically heats water
and activates a 10sec spray
at the optimum temperature
for a hygienic wash.The unit
holds enough clean water
for 50 hand washes. More articles from Teal Patents Ltd: |
