Alert to danger
August 1st 2004

A new device from Castle Group warns the wearer when noise levels become dangerous and hearing protection must be used. It also lets them know when it is safe to remove ear defenders. In many industrial environments, the noise hazard will vary throughout the premises and, as employees are often on the move, the dBAlert personal noise activated warning unit keeps them informed as to whether or not hearing protection is needed. The device activates only when the noise exceeds a user-defined, pre-set level. On triggering, a hyper-bright warning led flashes to catch the wearers attention through their peripheral vision, giving a clear, visible warning to exposed workers that ear defenders must be worn.
