Finger friendly September 1st 2011 Stafford-based P C D Maltron has
announced a major order from
Turkey for 350 of its special-needs
keyboards comprising 70 sets of five
different keyboards.
Each set of five comprises singlehanded
keyboards for left-hand use
or right-hand use, a dual-handed
'finger friendly' keyboard with proven
ergonomic benefits, a head/mouth
stick keyboard for those who cannot
use their arms and the Expanded
keyboard that is suitable for those
experiencing visual or muscular
control problems.
The single-handed keyboards offer
the most commonly used keys close
together to prevent hunting as
defined by the standard qwerty
system. The strongest digit, the
thumb, is used to particular advantage.
Head/mouth stick keyboards
have been developed using the same
key layout to lead to minimal stick
movement as keys are used. More articles from P C D Maltron Ltd: |
