50th Safety Awards celebrated
June 1st 2008

Professionals from the sustainability, health and safety world came together for this year's 50th International Safety Awards banquet held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London, by the British Safety Council (BSC).

The BSC presented hundreds of its member organisations with the coveted International Safety Awards.

And to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the event, Nakheel, one of the world's largest real estate development companies and the force that is turning the vision of Dubai into a reality, marked the occasion by sponsoring the very first 'British Safety Council - Nakheel International Award in Business Sustainability'. The award was presented by Mr Abdulrahman Kalantar, Nakheel's Managing Director for Design and Development, to Tata Chemicals.

The award was accepted by Mr Anwar Hasan, Managing Director, Tata UK who said "Tata affords the highest degree to the importance of health, safety and sustainability and this award is a manifestation of that. The award is also dedicated to all the employees of Tata Chemicals who have made this possible."
