BSIF business development
August 31st 2006

The BSIF has appointed David Lummis to manage the Federation's commercial operations under the recently launched umbrella of BSIF Enterprises.

The announcement is a key step in the BSIF's strategy to establish itself as one of the most influential trade organisations in Europe. As business development manager, David Lummis will be responsible for generating additional income from commercial activities and services aimed at both BSIF members and the industry at large. This extra revenue will be used to strengthen and expand the BSIF over the long-term

David brings with him a wealth of experience. In a career spanning over 25 years, he has held senior roles with Wenaas, Eurosafe, W. A. Blyth, AO Safety Products and Adco. He was also one of the original members of the BSIF's Federation Council, helping to found the organisation in 1994. Until recently, he was vice chair of the BSIF Distributor Association.

David comments: "I am looking forward to the challenge. My aim is to give the BSIF an important new commercial edge though BSIF Enterprises. Both my experience in the safety industry and my knowledge of the BSIF gives me a unique perspective on what the Federation can achieve. Having worked with membership-based organisations in the past, I feel confident I can make a positive contribution to taking the BSIF forward to the next stage of its development."
