Community support August 1st 2008 Supplier of health and safety
equipment and workwear,
Arco, has teamed up with
Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT)
in Volunteers' Week to carry
out environmental work in
the Yorkshire & Humber
region. Ten volunteers from
Arco's National Distribution
Centre in Hull took
advantage of the safety
company's employee
volunteering scheme to help
YWT create reed beds at
North Cave Wetlands Bird
Sanctuary, a 100-acre nature
reserve visited by around
10,000 people each year.
As one of the principal
charitable organisations
supported by Arco in the
region, YWT benefits from a
sustainable level of activity
from Arco volunteers, which
helps to maximise the impact
on the area's nature reserves.
Arco says it is intent on
making the difference – in
business and in the
communities in which it does
business. Its volunteering
scheme, in which employees
are entitled to two days' paid
leave to carry out voluntary
work, facilitates Arco people
in 37 regions of the UK to
support a wide range of
community projects. More articles from Arco Limited: |
