From tennis balls to hard ha October 1st 2009 Arco, the UK expert in
safety, is celebrating a
milestone in the company's
history as it reaches its 125th
Anniversary. Established in
1884, the fourth generation
family owned business that
won the J P Morgan Family
Business Award 2009,
originally made tennis balls
for the Wimbledon
tournament. It is now
regarded as an expert in
workplace safety, with 40
branches across the UK and
Ireland, supported by a fast
and efficient delivery service
and a trading branch in
Pune, India.
The Martin family joined
the business soon after the
company was started and as
few businesses reach such a
milestone, this achievement,
coupled with Arco's mission
of protecting people at work,
is a true accolade to the
values.
The anniversary coincides
with the launch of the latest
edition of Arco's famous Big
Book catalogue. With 924
pages and a world-class range
of 22,000 safety and workwear
products, this year's catalogue
includes the latest in personal
protective equipment with
