Raytek has launched its FoodPro series of handheld thermometers for routine food safety checks. The series includes the FoodPro infrared thermometer for fast, safe and accurate non-contact measurements of food surface temperatures, and the FoodPro Plus, an all in one food safety inspection tool with an IR thermometer for scanning surface temperatures, a fold out temperature probe for measuring internal core temperatures, and a built-in timer for clocking exposure times. These thermometers claim to be easy for staff to use without prior training. Both FoodPro Series thermometers allow users to quickly scan surface temperatures within a range of -35 to +275C without cross contamination. For in-depth monitoring, The FoodPro Plus fold out contact probe verifies food core temperatures with a range of -40 to +200C. In addition the units built-in timer clocks exposure times at specific temperatures during cooking, cooling, re-heating and holding.
