Technician lifts industry
November 1st 2010

Anthony Grainger, a service technician with Demag Cranes & Components, has been awarded the prestigious Cyril McCauley Memorial Prize by the Lifting Equipment Engineers' Association (LEEA). Anthony studied for the LEEA's Lifting Machines (Power) Diploma via a correspondence course, before sitting the examination in April 2010. He passed the diploma with distinction and in the opinion of the LEEA examination board, his paper was the best submitted by 54 candidates worldwide, earning him the Cyril McCauley Memorial Prize.

Anthony received a certificate and a commemorative plaque from LEEA president, John Kilby, at the organisation's Annual General Meeting, held at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, in November.

Twenty nine year old Anthony joined Demag in 2000 as an apprentice, before graduating to the position of Service Technician in April 2003. He currently works within Demag's North East regional service team.
