Needleresistant

Bennett Safetywear has improved its range of needle-resistant gloves and now offers a leather-backed version of its Needlestop 1866 glove.

Initially designed for a customer who needed more extensive back of hand protection when handling razor wire, the new glove provides this protection without any loss of dexterity.

Tested to EN388, the glove has also performed well in more rigorous tests involving a variety of different sized hypodermic needles.

The glove is suitable for those handling waste where there is any risk of contact with needles or other sharp objects.

The company is looking to apply the technology used in the 1866 to develop a range of needle-resistant clothing for applications such as hospital and domestic waste handling and refuse collection.
