Discrete ladder system provides safe access
June 1st 2007

Safety at Height, working closely with specialist installer HRS Services, has provided an integral fall arrest PivotLoc ladder system to a new office building in Manchester.

PivotLoc is a foldable ladder system with GlideLoc fall protection rail which is said to offer a cost effective, safe solution. The ladder can be closed when not in use to prevent unauthorised access.

The device provides a discrete, secure solution, and blends with the aesthetic appearance of the building.

Project architect, Albert Sutton, says "What we wanted was a safe means of access to the upper roof area by positioning abseil rails that did not detract from the appearance of the façade. The PivotLoc ladders fulfiled this requirement as they close and lock when not in use." Andy Russell, MD of Russell Construction, adds "This is the first time we have used PivotLoc. It offered a neat, safe and discrete solution for our client."
