Handrail system
November 1st 2010

Safety at height specialist, Safetyworks & Solutions, has provided roof safety products at the new E.ON gas-fired combined heat and power (CHP) station, on the Isle of Grain in Kent.

The £500m power station required 1580 linear metres of Easyguard permanent freestanding handrail, which was installed to ensure safe access around the roof perimeters of various buildings on the site. Safetyworks specifically designed the system to include an increased angle on the post to counter the angle of the roof.

The handrails were produced in extra heavy duty versions, to withstand the high winds expected on the roof areas.
