Horizontal safety line
April 1st 2005

A horizontal safety line system from Dunn & Cowe has been chosen by a leading DIY and garden retailer to ensure the safety of contractors when carrying out external work on the roofs of its many stores.

The Lineanka system, installed by GutterKleen Waste Water Services, was fitted retrospectively at all stores that did not have a suitable system supplied at the time of construction.

It is said to give roof top workers total fall protection as they are continuously attached to a flexible safety line while travelling along the system. The user can move from one side of the line to the other without the need to disconnect.

With pre-assembled components, it is also easy to install, reducing on-site labour costs.

The class C system is made from stainless steel.
