NEW SYSTEM OF EDGE PROTECTION

Safeguard, a new temporary edge protection system for use during the construction and maintenance of buildings, has been launched by RMD Kwikform.

The low maintenance, lightweight system is 100% reuseable, has the minimum number of components, no loose fittings and is for easy handling and the fastest possible erection and dismantling.

Safeguard is designed around interlocking, galvanised steel, welded mesh barriers. These are lifted into position and restrained by aluminium posts that are secured in socket base units by the use of a built-in locking mechanism.

The 1.1m high by 2.55m long barriers have a number of features. Weighing 18kg each, they can be handled comfortably by one man, and have an integral hand rail and 190mm deep toeboard that helps boost strength and rigidity.
