Operating safely on hospital roof
February 1st 2007

Safetyworks & Solutions has provided Jersey General Hospital with systems that enable operatives to undertake various maintenance tasks at height safely and securely.

The project required a walkways and barrier system that would allow restrictive access to plant, and an occasional system installation that would ensure easy access for maintenance of gutters.

For safe access onto the roof, Safetyworks & Solutions made and installed access steps and a ladder.

Its Easyguard 2 Clamp-on handrail system was installed in conjunction with a Flexideck walkway system.

Easyguard is a permanent, free-standing handrail system that is modular and non-penetrative.

A Uniline 8mm stainless steel system, installed to the perimeter, gives hands-free protection the length of the system. The user is attached via a link device that glides over the brackets. There is no need to detach from the fall protection system.
