Steel mesh barrier provides protection
February 1st 2006

Combisafe International's new generation steel mesh barrier is currently being used on all levels of Miller Construction's Innovation and Technology Centre development in Rotherham and has proved a hit with staff.

The barrier is fitted to steelwork at ground level through pre-drilled holes and then craned into place, saving the contractor time and money. Dismantling too is speedy.

An immediate edge protection is created, protecting the workforce.

Improvements include an inward curving toe-board to stop small debris from falling though the gap.

Posts have been strengthened and the barrier can be attached to the post at any height without loss of strength and allowing work beneath it.

Hugh Ramsey, project manager, Miller Construction says "We were able to use Combisafe throughout the erection of the steelframe, eliminating the need for handrails, thereby creating immediate safety zones."
